Petition to replace Kevin Spacey on ‘House of Cards’ hits 38, 900 signatures

Following the multiple allegations of sexual assault leveled against ‘House of Cards’ star Kevin Spacey, Netflix has been at loggerheads on whether to kill his character on the show or to simply replace him.

This is in-line with the statement released by Netflix on November 3rd, declaring that they would no longer be “involved with any further production of ‘House of Cards’ that includes Kevin Spacey.”

However, an Australian fan has reportedly come out with a solution to Netflix’s problem. In a petition addressed to Netflix Co-Founder and CEO, Reed Hastings, Australian Robbie Pyma requests that Kevin Spacey’s replacement on the show be ‘Kevin Can Wait’ sitcom star, Kevin James.

The petition, posted on, has already amassed a staggering 38 900 signatures (as per the time of going to press); all agreeing with Pyma.

Below is the full petition as it reads in full;

“Losing a great show is hard, no matter the circumstances. However with hardship comes the opportunity for a great show to become one of the greatest television shows of all time. I think Kevin James can elevate “House of Cards” to a globally adored franchise like “Game of Thrones” and make the entire world focus on one of the most important Netflix Original series there is.”
