Sarah Kabu, the wife of Bonfire Adventures CEO Simon Kabu, has spoken out a few hours after receiving a grand gift – a Range Rover Sport – for her 39th birthday.
Mr Kabu brought a busy Nairobi street to a standstill, when he celebrated Sarah Kabu’s birthday on Thursday, July 13.
The Range Rover Sport, which was decorated with red ribbons and balloons, snaked its way through Koinange Street, with the driver hooting, attracting attention to the spectacle. Business owners and pedestrians, who were going about their businesses, had to stop and catch a glimpse of the not-so-common sight.
Another vehicle, a pick-up, which was ahead of the Range Rover, carried a large white cake, with the words “Happy Birthday Sarah” written on the cake.
When the convoy stopped, around Koinange Street, Sarah, who was dressed in an animal print dress, could be seen emerging from a nearby building and his partner before hugging him passionately.
eDaily has learnt that Mr Kabu splashed Ksh120, 000 on the cake, Ksh2 million on entertainment at a high end joint in Kilimani, Nairobi and approximately Ksh12 million on the Range Rover Sport HSE.
“This is a dream come true. For sure I have been crazy about Range Rover Sports HSE for the last four years. But I was expecting it next year during my 40th birthday; but it has been delivered a year earlier (on) my 39th birthday!
“Aki Simon Kabu you are the best! When I remember where we started, ni machozi tu. The surprises started last midnight (Wednesday) and might continue till midnight (Thursday). To my Facebook friends, thanks a million for your wishes and all those who participated in pulling out this surprise. I didn’t know men are this creative,” said Sarah Kabu.
Mr and Mrs Kabu started their travel company, Bonfire Adventures, in 2008.
Mrs Kabu is the Managing Director of Bonfire Adventures.
