A middle-aged woman, who was found guilty of cutting her husband’s genitals, has been sentenced to eight years in jail by an Eldoret court.
Eldoret Chief Magistrate Charles Obulutsa said the prosecution presented sufficient evidence, which proved that Erica Iminza committed the crime.
The court heard that Iminza cut John Kisanya’s genitals on May 22 this year using a sharp knife, while he was asleep.
Kisanya said, after the ruling, that he was happy with the court’s decision.
Kisanya, who sought medical care at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital to restore his manhood, said he had tried to have the matter resolved out of court, but Iminza’s family frustrated his efforts.
Kisanya and Iminza are parents to two children.
Iminza has 14 days to file an appeal against her sentencing.
