A middle-aged woman from Magombe Village in Rarieda Sub-county, Siaya County committed suicide after she reportedly found out that she was sharing a lover with her daughter, who is in Form Three at a local school.
According to villagers, the woman’s body was found hanging from a mango tree near her house Wednesday morning.
Her lover, who is a pastor at a local church, was allegedly dating the widow alongside her daughter.
When the woman’s family discovered that she and her daughter were eating from the same pot, they convened a meeting to discuss how they’d cleanse the two.
Before that could happen, the woman took her own life Wednesday morning.
East Uyoma Location chief Wilberforce Oyucho has confirmed the incident, saying an investigation into the woman’s death has begun.
The woman’s body was moved to Madiany Sub-County Hospital mortuary.
