Woman in Asbel Kiprop’s video out of hospital, relocates to sister’s house

Nancy Rotich-Chepsiya, who allegedly attempted suicide after her intimate video with athlete Asbel Kiprop went viral, is out of hospital.

Ms Rotich, who had been admitted at an Eldoret hospital for ingesting pesticide Monday evening, has now relocated to her elder sister’s place in Pioneer in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.

Ms Rotich’s husband, athlete Andrew Chepsiya, said he had reached a decision to end his marriage to her over infidelity allegations.

EDAILY has confirmed that the 24-year-old woman is in her sister’s custody now.

Ms Rotich, who unsuccessfully ran for an MCA seat in Uasin Gishu County in the 2017 general election, was captured on tape kissing, moving her waist seductively and caressing Mr Kiprop in a car.

The video was released to social media by Mr Kiprop, who accused Ms Rotich, whom she dated since 2016, of being a doom-bringer.

Mr Kiprop, who is under investigations for doping allegations, said he wanted to expose the woman, who was “responsible for his misfortunes in his career and marriage”.

Mr Kiprop has since fallen out with his longtime friend, Mr Chepsiya, with the latter accusing Mr Kiprop of “betrayal” for “sleeping with” his [Chepsiya’s] wife.

Mr Kiprop’s wife, Sammary Cherotich, has since come out to blame the athlete’s infidelity on alcohol and frustration brought about by dwindling finances.
