Woman appeals to gov’t to help her secure divorce from husband over death threats

A 30-year-old woman in Sofia Estate, Homa Bay County, wants government agencies to help her secure divorce from her husband over alleged death threats.

Pamela Akinyi, a maid, has complained that her husband has detained her national identity card as well as other documents to restrict her movement.

The mother of three says that she separated from her husband on Thursday last week after he threatened to kill her and all their children.

Akinyi now says her greatest concern is that the husband in question detained a number of her personal items and that,even though she already reported the matter to the police and the children’s department, her efforts to have him arrested have borne no fruit.

She now wants well-wishers to help her undertake a legal procedure of pursuing a divorce case to enable her get out of the marriage.

Akinyi is also calling on the police to take action and arrest the husband over the threats.
