Police are looking for a 45-year-old woman from Kiptilol village in Cheboge, Keiyo South Sub County for allegedly assaulting her 10 year-old grandson, leaving him with deep panga cuts on his leg.
Speaking at Kipsaos Dispensary where the boy was receiving treatment, Kipsaos Assistant Chief, Phillip Ruto, said that the suspect, on Monday, accused her grandson of stealing shoes belonging to another child.
She thereafter hit the 10-year-old on the head, hands; before cutting his leg with a panga.
“This is the highest degree of brutality on children. While we expect even the grandmothers to be people of great care to their grandchildren, this has baffled us”, said Chief Ruto.
The victim denied stealing another child’s shoes. A visit by Chamgei FM to the dispensary Tuesday found the victim being stitched.
