Controversial gospel musician Willy Paul is on the spot, once again, over claims that he has copied Tanzanian artiste Diamond Platnumz’s new rasta hairstyle.
The “Jigi Jigi” hit-maker took to Instagram to post a picture showing him sporting dreadlocks, with fans believing he borrowed the fashion statement from Diamond Platnumz, who had 3 days earlier shared an image rocking the Rastafarian hairstyle.
Posting a pic showing him donning a blue-and-yellow botany print shirt, Willy Paul said: “Star! #NewLook… Where are my true fans at? Press like here [on the picture]!”
An Instagram user, whose moniker is Miturh Mirrir Boy, called out Willy Paul over the hairstyle, which he [Miturh] claimed resembled that of Diamond Platnumz.
The Instagram user insinuated Willy Paul has a habit of copying everything from Diamond, including music style, dressing and fashion. He, therefore, urged the “Digiri” star to go live with Diamond as “husband and wife”.
“Willy Paul, go and look for Diamond so that you live with him as husband and wife,” said Miturh.
Willy Paul, immediately, clapped back, saying: “Miturh, head there [to Diamond] first, and I would follow you. You have woman-like habits.”
Willy Paul went ahead to lambast those accusing him of copying Diamond Platnumz’s hairstyle, saying he rocked the fashion style; and posted it so social media way before the “Utanipenda” crooner made his new hairstyle public.
“Do your research. I was the first to upload a picture of the rasta hairstyle. He [Diamond] posted his picture three days after me,” Willy Paul told a fan.
