Celebrated gospel bigwig Willy Paul has revealed that his gospel counterpart Bahati has no problem with the two recording a collabo.
In an interview with Citizen Digital, Willy Paul confirmed that he spoke to Bahati about the same, and said the Barua star was happy with the suggestion.
“I called Bahati yesterday evening and asked him if we could meet soon; to which he agreed,” said Willy Paul.
He added: “He (Bahati) was very happy with the suggestion of us working on a hit together. We haven’t yet settled on a date to do the recording, but I hope it will be soon.”
The You Never Know hit-maker also disclosed the details of their planned meeting: “In addition, Bahati and I would talk about ministry and what we would do to unify our fans.”
On whether his move of taking to social media to send his gospel colleague a reconciliation message was strategic, Willy said: “Yesterday God spoke to me; He asked me to make peace with Bahati – I could not ignore His call; I just had to obey.”
Bahati is yet to publicly respond to Willy Paul’s message.
Willy Paul has recorded a new jam, Sijafika, with gospel queens Kambua, Gloria Muliro and Size 8, which is slated for official release next week.
“I am honoured to work with Gloria, Size 8 and Kambua because they are role models in the gospel industry; moreover, they are very spiritual and influential,” he said in reference to collaborating with the three.
On Wednesday, a lady going by the name Charlene Leila, 19, said that the singer abdicated his responsibility after impregnating her.
She further alleged that Willy Paul ordered her to get rid of the unborn baby because he was not the father.
Willy responded, “No comment,” when Citizen Digital sought his response to the allegations.
