American pop star Chris Brown has over 10.38 million subscribers on YouTube and Susan Diane Wojcicki, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the internet platform, is in awe.
Ms Wojcicki wrote Chris Brown a letter on Wednesday, May 17, to congratulate him on the noteworthy achievement; a fete attained by not more than 95 YouTubers across the world as at May, 2017.
“Dear Chris Brown, at a hundred thousand, we thought: Not bad. That’s a healthy new channel. At one million, we thought: Wow, this creator’s got something pretty awesome going on. But 10 million? At this point we’re actually scratching our heads. How the heck did you do that? 10 million subscribers isn’t just a lot of people, it’s more than the entire population of New York City.
“The fact is, you are no longer just a great channel. You’re a movement. You’ve clearly touched a nerve in the world, and you’ve found a legion of fans who expect – and receive – great things from you. We hope you’ll accept this Diamond Play Button as a woefully inadequate token of our appreciation, and our respect for what you’ve accomplished. You amaze us and inspire us every day. Keep it coming,” wrote Ms Ms Wojcicki.
Some of the artistes who have more subscribers on YouTube than Chris Brown include: Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Eminem, One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Maroon 5, Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, Adele, Shakira, David Guetta, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj and Wiz Khalifa.
