In a dramatic confession that has left detectives shocked, Joseph Ochieng, the key suspect in the murder of 28-year‑old Pauline Wangari, has admitted to the killing. Ochieng, who was arrested in Kisumu on Monday, told reporters that he committed the crime out of jealousy after discovering Wangari had ended their relationship to marry another man. “I loved her too much to see her with someone else. That is why I killed her,” Ochieng said. The victim’s body was found dumped in a thicket along the Kiserian road last month. Police have since recovered the murder weapon, a kitchen knife, at Ochieng’s rented house. He will be arraigned at the Kiambu Law Courts on Friday to face murder charges.
