Popular Nollywood actor Osita Iheme, better known by his stage name Paw Paw, has said he is not yet married at age 33 because he reveres the institution and wouldn’t pressure himself into it just because his age mates dropped anchors.
The Brain Box actor told Nigeria’s The Sun: “Marriage is not a step to be taken because other people are taking it. Even if the person is your twin, you don’t have to do it just because he did it. It is something you do when you are ready. I’ll take that step when I’m fully ready.”
Mr Iheme’s ‘twin’ in the acting industry, Chinedu Ikedieze, alias Aki, has been married for six years plus.
Aki, in mid-2015, told Nigeria’s TS Weekend that he made the first move on his wife Nneoma Ikedieze, a Mass Communication graduate from Enugu State University.
“God will not forgive you if you know you love a girl and she loves you and you know you can make a family. So, what stops you from telling her you love her? What stops you from telling her ‘Come on baby, let’s do this?’ I just told her baby, let us do this and the rest is history.”
Nneoma in a December, 2011 interview with Uche Olehi divulged how she met Aki.
“We met in Lagos. We worked in a production together. I was a costumier. I have always been seeing him. I just like his lifestyle. So we became friends and from there the journey began. Chinedu is very intelligent and smart.
“I married Chinedu Ikedieze, I did not marry Aki,”Nneoma said, refuting claims that her wedding to the comic was motivated by money and not love.
We are still together
Mr Iheme in his interview with The Sun responded to allegations that he and Aki are having some misunderstanding which sprung up after the latter got married.
There were speculations that the two are at loggerheads as they haven’t been seen together in movies and social gatherings ‘as usual’.
Denying the reports, Imo state-born actor Iheme said: “There is nothing really going on between us. There is no movie to feature both of us so we have been doing our stuff separately. If any producer wants us together in his movie, then we shall do it as usual.”
