Top-hit Tanzanian artiste, Darassa, has revealed that he did not perform in Nairobi’s Ngong Racecourse on Saturday, March 18, because the promoters of the event, that he was to headline, did not pay him prior to the performance, as had earlier been agreed in their contract.
Speaking on Radio Citizen’s Mambo Mseto recently, Darassa said the event organizers broke the news about his slated performance way before he received payment for the function, contrary to their agreement.
The organizers, he says, instead told him to fly into the country and perform and then he would be paid thereafter, an arrangement he protested, resulting into the cancellation of the Racecourse event.
However, the event organizer namely Martin denied the claims, saying that the reason for the cancellation of the concert was because they hadn’t struck a deal with Darassa.
Darassa has however revealed that he will headline a concert in Kenya on or before April, 2017.
Darassa is well known for the popular hit song Muziki.
