Who is the greatest rapper of all time? Leaked list sparks debate online

Twitter on Tuesday morning erupted after a list of the ‘Top 50 Greatest Rappers of All-Time’ leaked online.

The list, whose source is yet to be identified, contains some of the biggest names in the Hip Hop industry, both at present (e.g J Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross) as well as from back in the day (Biggie, Styles P, Ice Cube, Method Man).

But perhaps what has come as a shocker to many Hip Hop lovers is the fact that Joe Budden came in third place; several spots above more popular rappers such as Lil Wayne, and even Eminem.

Jay Z topped the list, followed by Nas. ‘Hypnotize’ hitmaker Biggie came eighth, Kendrick Lamar at tenth place and J Cole at 19th.

Eminem was listed at 28th spot while fans favorite Lil Wayne 37th; 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes and Lloyd Banks closed the list.

Controversial rapper Kanye West was however missing on the list, as well as female rappers of the past decade such as Nicki Minaj, Eve, Remy Ma, Iggy Azalea etc.

Joe Budden has since been trolled by Twitter users, with a large section of them claiming he is the creator of the controversial list.

The ‘Pump it up’ rapper has since also taken to the microblogging site to respond to the allegations saying he is not the originator of the list but that disagree with its contents either.

Music critics have since spoken out about the mysterious list, with most stating that Eminem and Lil Wayne deserved to be much higher; considering their achievements in the rap world.

Below are some of the reactions from Twitter users globally:
