One of Kenya’s top female DJs, Pierra Makena, has a reason to celebrate-and it has nothing to do with the disk jockey industry.
The pretty music selector bagged the Best Supporting Actress in the Nollywood and African Film Critics’ Awards (NAFCA) for playing Didi on the film When Love Comes Around.
The Ghanian film tackles the issues of love, money and marriage.
The glitzy function, which is dubbed the ‘African Oscars’, took place at Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
An elated DJ Pierra uploaded a video on her Instagram page celebrating the win.
Pierra acts alongside celebrated Nigerian Actor Jim Iyke, Zynnell Zuh, Eku Edewor, Dj Pierra Makena, Mikki Osei Berko, David Osei and Edward Kuffuor.
The video romantic comedy was produced by Zynnell Zuh and it premiered in Accra on 19th December 2014. You can watch the promo here:
