Sorry Diamond fans, East Africa’s top artiste did not win the Best International Act at the BET Awards.
The Tandale born crooner lost the title to South Africa’s DJ Black Coffee at international fete which was hosted at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.
While some members of #TeamDiamond are eating sour grapes over the lost title, the King of Bongo has no hard feelings. Shortly after DJ Black Coffee was named winner, the Number One singer took to his Instagram to congratulate him.
Apart from Diamond Platinum other A-list artists who were nominated for the award include; AKA, Yemi Alade, Cassper Nyovest, MzVee, Serge Beynaud and Wizkid.
Nkosinathi Maphumulo, better known by his stage name Dj Black coffee, made history by being the first South African artist to bag the much envied accolade.
Praise for the South African DJ came streaming in from all quarters, even AKA – an artiste who has had several beefs with the newly crowned Best International Act.
