High drama characterised the arrest of four suspected thieves, who allegedly broke into a bar in Majengo, Nyeri County and stole electronic equipment, including television sets and CCTV cameras Wednesday night.
Nyeri Central OCPD Paul Kuria said they used sniffer dogs Thursday morning to trace the four to their hideout in Majengo Slums, where they found them binging on stolen liquor.
The slum area has been on the radar of police, who claim that burglars often hide there after committing criminal activities.
One of the four suspects was seen knocking his head against a wooden wall during live reportage by Citizen Television reporter in Nyeri, Martin Munene.
“He did not sustain any injuries. He and his three colleagues are being detained at the Nyeri Police Station as they wait to be arraigned on Friday, February 1,” Munene told EDAILY.
