A middle-aged woman from Voi in Taita Taveta County was on Friday, February 8 sentenced to two years in jail for stealing her employer’s purse, which contained Ksh65, 000.

Cecilia Chepchirchir Kiptoo stole the money and a mobile phone belonging to Florence Wawira on September 29, 2018 at Manyani area.

In her defense, Chepchirchir claimed Wawira filed a fabricated case against her in court after she [Chepchirchir] refused to sleep with a ‘truck driver’ as had been ordered by the complainant.
