Varsity students forcefully evict Vice Chancellor from office on opening date

Students from Scott Christian University in Machakos County on Monday, September 3 forcefully evicted the institution’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Mumo Kisau from his office, accusing him of mismanaging the university’s funds.

The students, who resumed new semester studies Monday, first embarked on the VC’s removal before anything else.

The students accuse Prof. Kisau of engaging in nepotism, corruption and mismanagement of the institution’s funds.

They claim they exhausted all other avenues to express their gripe, but their efforts were frustrated.

Scott University students’ union leader, Philip Kirui, said accommodation challenges, among the mentioned reasons, triggered their quest to eject the VC from office.

The institution of higher learning has a population of 1200 students.
