University student nabbed with Class Five girl in lodging

A 25-year-old Moi University student was arrested in a lodging with a 15-year-old girl in Iten town, Elgeyo-Marakwet County on Thursday, September 28.

Emmanuel Keter, a Third Year Bachelor of Arts (Linguistics, Media and Communication) student, was nabbed in a guest room with the girl, a Class Five pupil, who hails from Uasin Gishu County.

According to Keiyo North AP commander, Joseph Biwott, area residents reported to his office that the varsity student had been spotted checking into a lodging facility with the teenager at around 5pm Wednesday.

Biwott said the two were arrested and the girl taken to a hospital to examine whether she had engaged in sexual intercourse with the man, whom she referred to as her lover.

The pair remains in police custody as investigations into the incident continue.

Biwott said the two will be arraigned on Friday, September 29.
