A student from Daystar University has been charged with fraudulently obtaining over KSh6million from a businesswoman.
Charity Wangari Mwangi was charged alongside John Kuiyaki before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate, Martha Mutuku, where they denied the charges.
The two, jointly with others not before court, are accused of obtaining KSh6.6 million from Joyce Nyaguthi Kibe by falsely pretending that the money was to finance an order to supply herbicides to Siani Roses flower farm in Kitengela.
The alleged fraud took place on September 20, 2016 and December 19, 2016 at Westlands, Nairobi.
The accused pleaded not guilty and asked for lenient bail terms after the defense told the court that the first accused is a student at a local university and was not a flight risk.
The matter will be mentioned on January 26, 2017 and heard on March 16, 2017.
The two were released on a bond of KSh1million or cash bail of KSh200, 000.
