Two men arrested for engaging in sexual acts with Form Three, Class Eight girls

Two men, whose ages were estimated to be between 20 and 25, were arrested on Wednesday, September 27 for engaging in sexual acts with underage school girls for three days, a period which the girls were not attending classes.

The girls, a Class Eight pupil and another a Form Three student, were putting up at the house of the two men in Antubeiya Location, Igembe Central in Meru County without their parents’ knowledge, claiming that the suspects were their “boyfriends”.

Concerned neighbours raised an alarm when they spotted the two girls going to relieve themselves at an outdoor toilet.

While addressing the press, Antubeiya Location acting chief, George Theuru Muthine, said he received a tip-off from his members of Nyumba Kumi initiative and planned the suspects’ arrest.

Chief Muthine said the two girls have since been reunited with their families.

The suspects will be arraigned in court on Thursday, September 28.

“Investigations are underway to see if we would arrest the girls’ parents for negligence,” said Chief Muthine.
