Feted Congolese Mastro Papa Wemba died in Abdijan, Ivory Coast.
Media reports indicate that the 66-year-old Show Me The Way hit-maker collapsed suddenly on stage.
Details of his death are yet to be made public, but fans have already taken to social media to mourn the talented musician.
