Republican nominee Donald Trump has finally admitted President Barack Obama was born in United States.
Mr Trump’s campaign, earlier, said in a statement the billionaire believes Obama is an American citizen. Trump had not, until Friday evening, acknowledged Obama’s citizenship in public.
He had turned to an adviser late Thursday to release a statement, saying: “Having successfully obtained President Obama’s birth certificate when others could not, Mr. Trump believes that President Obama was born in the United States,” said Jason Miller, Trump’s senior communications adviser.
“President Barack Obama was born in the United States, period. Now we all want to get back to making America strong and great,” Trump said from the Trump International Hotel in Washington D.C. as quoted by ABC News.
Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961.
