Tragedy as Konshens’ big brother, Delus, kills himself

Jamaican Dancehall artist Delmark Spence, better known by his stage name as Delus, has committed suicide.

The tragic incident took place at his home at Havendale, St. Andrew on Wednesday night.

Delus, who is the older brother of internationally acclaimed dancehall star, Konshens, reportedly recorded a video of himself with a gun moments before his death.

He sent his girlfriend the video clip, and she rushed to the home to stop him from taking his life.

Details surrounding Delus’ death are still unclear as neighbours say they heard his girlfriend driving back home at about 7pm in a mad rush.

Locals speculate that Delus was already dead by the time his girlfriend got home as they heard frantic screams shortly after she arrived at the house.

According to DreOne, the Police Information Unit confirmed that residents heard an explosion about 7.05pm and summoned the police.

Delus, who celebrated his 35th birthday last week, was found dead with a gunshot wound on his head.

His body was reportedly found in the bathtub.

Delus, who, like Konshens, was a recording artiste, got his break in 2005 with a single called Pon Di Corner – a hit track that he recorded with Konshens.

After deciding to pursue solo careers, Delus and Konshens went their separate ways.

Delus is known for songs such as What Tomorrow May Bring, Another Gal, and She is Happy.

The Dancehall community has sent a slew of condolences to Konshens and his family.

On his part, Konshens was seemingly at loss of words when he learnt of his brother’s demise. After some silence, the Gal a Bubble hit-maker took to Instagram to mourn the loss of his big brother.

May his soul rest in peace.
