Tragedy as 24-year-old falls 8 floors to his death at KNH

24-year-old Bernard Kipngetich fell to his death at Kenyatta National (KNH) on Saturday 28th May, leaving hospital workers dumfounded.

Though police are still carrying out investigations into the tragic incident, eyewitnesses say the National Youth Service (NYS) man jumped to his death from the 8th floor.

Doctors say Kipnegitch sustained serious injuries to his head, dying on the spot.

The Nairobi Deputy Police boss Moses Ombati confirmed the incident, adding that he sent an investigative team to probe the matter further.

According to police records incidents of suicide at KNH, the largest referral hospital in Kenya, have become a common phenomenon. Over two are reported every month.

Before Saturday’s tragic incident, a cancer patient jumped from the 7th floor, crashing into the 2nd floor.

Benard Kipnegitch body was transferred to City Mortuary.
