American R&B singer Keri Hilson has announced her Kenyan visit penciled in for August 3.
The “Energy” hit-maker took to micro-blogging site, Twitter, on Friday, June 22 to make the announcement.
“Nairobi, Kenya I am coming your way on August 3. I will be performing and doing some work there with the Keri Hilson Foundation,” she wrote on her official Twitter page.
The duration of Keri Hilson’s Kenyan tour is yet to be revealed.
Some of the African countries that Keri Hilson has visited – in the past – include Nigeria and South Africa.
In a 2010 interview with MTV, Keri Hilson said her music is inspired by African entertainment culture.
“I gather music from these regions [South Africa and Nigeria]. And African music is very drum-heavy. I am definitely going to be using some of that African inspiration,” she said ahead of the release of her album titled “No Boys Allowed” in late-2010.
In January 2016, Keri Hilson was unveiled as that year’s Airtel Trace Music Star mentor for the winner of the talent search show. Keri Hilson took over from Akon, who was the previous year’s ambassador.
The 2016 Airtel Africa Trace Music Star winner was unveiled in Lagos, Nigeria.
Though several past reports – in 2010, 2011 and 2016 – claimed that Keri Hilson would tour Kenya around those years, none of the claims materialised.
