American R&B star Toni Braxton could tie the knot with her fiancé, Birdman, at the end of 2018.
Talking with Wendy Williams on Tuesday, Braxton said she and Birdman had actually set two dates but neither materialized.
“We were doing ‘Braxton Family Values.’ We were going through a little drama,” Braxton, 51, explained.
“I was like okay, the wedding – it’s a good thing to get all the sisters together. But I couldn’t get us all together. The wedding is not a good reason because it’s messing up my relationship a little bit. He’s like, ‘Come on, Michelle [her middle name] set a date.’”
Braxton, who broke news about her engagement in February this year, hinted she may tie the knot before December 31.
“He said before the year is out,” she added. “So [I have] a couple weeks.”
Toni Braxton explained that Birdman, 49, is perfectly fine with getting married at a courthouse, but she wants a proper wedding dress.
The Grammy-winning artiste previously said she wanted a “Great Gatsby” themed wedding.
Her sisters will not serve as bridesmaids.
Toni Braxton said her best friend, Jada Pinkett-Smith, will instead be her maid of honor.
