Musician Timmy T. Dat has been arrested.
The rapper was arrested on Friday aftrenoon (June 15) by two policemen while getting into his car, which had been parked on the roadside on Muthithi Road in Parklands, Nairobi.
Timmy confirmed to EDAILY on phone Friday afternoon that he had been taken to a Nairobi police post.
He, however, did not disclose what wrong he had committed.
“I’m at the police station now, I will give you more details later,” he told this writer on phone before hanging up.
Last month Timmy T. Dat attracted controversy, when he demanded double compensation from a Kenyan Member of Parliament, whose daughter has been featured in his music video.
According to Mseto East Africa, one of the vixens used in the video is the daughter of a prominent legislator whose identity remains anonymous.
It is understood that after watching the music video, the said MP asked the Kasabun hit-maker to edit out the parts in which daughter, who is said to be a law student, features.
However, it is said Timmy T. Dat rejected the MP’s plea, unless he is compensated substantively for the time and money he spent on doing the video.
“They will have to compensate me in double, for the time and money. If they refund double, I will shoot a video without the chic,” Timmy said.
