Adele has admitted that she has quit her 25-a-day cigarette habit because she feared it would kill her.
Sometimes all we need is that one person who will motivate us to kick our bad habits to the curb; for Adele it was her son.
In an interview with Rolling Stone in November, talking about her 3-year-old son she said: “All the things I really like about myself, he brings out in me, and he’s the only person that tells me no. He completely rules me. He’s the boss of me, and it’s so funny for other people to watch, because I’m the boss of everything in my work life.”
She revealed that the thought of dying from a smoking-related illness has forced her to ditch her longtime smoking habit.
Speaking to Mirror, she said” “If I’d carried on smoking, I’d probably have died from a smoking-related illness and I think that’s really bad.”
“I absolutely loved it, but it’s not that cool when I’m dying from a smoking-related illness and my kid is devastated,” the singer told Rolling Stone in a separate interview.
“If I was dying from lung cancer I would have potentially given it to myself and that wouldn’t be something I’d be proud of.”
Adele underwent risky throat surgery in 2011 and has since been on a healthy lifestyle trend especially after releasing her album 25, which has garnered insurmountable traffic.
Although she has agreed to join the healthy lifestyle, she is not doing it because of the constant ‘weight loss’ chanting ‘fans’, she is doing it for herself.
“It’s to get in shape for myself, but not to be a size zero or anything like that,” she said.
She is also not going the whole nine yards mostly because she doesn’t find the gym fun.
“I’m not, like, skipping to the gym. I don’t enjoy it. I do like doing weights.”
“I don’t like looking in the mirror. Blood vessels burst on my face really easily, so I’m so conscious when I’m lifting weights not to let them burst in my face.”
In the recent past, she told Q Magazine that she would rather go to the pub than go to the gym.
“I don’t want to go down the f**king gym. I want to go to the pub with my mates. I can’t be bothered. It’s not even lazy, it’s just other things thrill me in life.”
