Noellah Musundi has been appointed the new Director of Communications in the Office of the Governor, Nairobi County.
Ms Musundi replaces Walter Mongare, popularly known as Nyambane, who was suspended from the position last month by Nairobi County Secretary Dr Robert Ayisi.
eDaily learnt that Mong’are did not submit his academic certificates, certificate of good conduct, HELB clearance form and certified copies of clearance from the Credit Reference Bureau as the position he held required.
Noellah was the Director of Communication, County Government of Bungoma.
Noellah Musundi, an accredited journalist, holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from United States International University and a master’s degree in the same field from University of Nairobi.
Walter Mong’are was appointed Nairobi County Director of Communications in May 8, 2014; a position he held for exactly two years.
Prior to his appointment to the lucrative position in Nairobi County, Walter had served as the head of communication directorate in Kisii County government.
Mong’are revealed to Citizen Television in December, 2015 why he left Kisii County for Nairobi.
“The aspect of family is what brought me back to Nairobi; when the opportunity showed up in the same capacity as a Communication Director. Nairobi is more challenging; it is a fast-moving county and I saw the challenge was better. I have got desire to grow beyond where I am,” he told Lillian Muli.
Mr Mongare rose to fame as a comedian in the programme Redykyulass. Redykyulass was a popular comedy show which aired on local television stations early 2000s.
