Ugandan superstar Dr Jose Chameleone has refuted claims that he harbours any ill feelings towards fellow east African powerhouse Diamond Platnumz.
The Tubonge star sat down with Radio Citizen’s Mzazi Willy M Tuva for a tell all interview where he opened up about the incident that sparked the beef rumours.
“You see, we were once on one TV show in Kampala, and they asked me a few questions. The media then twisted my sentiments to make it look like I’d spoken ill of Diamond,” Chameleone said.
The singer went on to explain that people had been trying to ignite a conflict between him and Diamond, alleging that the two have a deep rivalry.
“People have really tried to pit me against Diamond, yet I am a big fan of his. He is an artist, just as I am an artist. He has his own success and I have mine,” he went on to say.
The 37-year-old singer, who made his debut into the entertainment scene at the tender age of 17, insisted that he has no reason to fight with Diamond.
“Diamond and I do not have any reason to beef. I do not have any reason to say anything bad about him,” he added.
He went on to say that he respects all musicians, regardless of their celebrity status.
“I respect music and whosoever does music. I do not have that notion that I am a superstar, or that I am better than others. We are all the same – musicians.”
When asked if fans should expect a Diamond- Chameleone collabo, the Wale Wale singer said it would be highly unlikely because they were booth exceedingly busy. He, however, did not rule it out completely.
