President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and President Kenyatta’s personal assistant Jomo Gecaga reportedly contributed Ksh2.45 million for a Jubilee Party “appreciation team” to celebrate “a long, but successful journey” the Head of State has had during the electioneering period.
eDaily has learnt that President Kenyatta reportedly parted with Ksh1 million, while his deputy is said to have contributed Ksh700, 000, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko allegedly contributed Ksh500, 000 and Jomo Gecaga is said to have contributed Ksh250, 000 to the kitty.
The money was spent on high-end drinks and meals at the Galileo Lounge in Westlands, Nairobi on Tuesday night (November 28).
Among those who attended the exclusive party include: Mike Sonko, Jomo Gecaga, National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi and his Senate counterpart Ken Lusaka, former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar, Gatundu South legislator Moses Kuria, former Taita Taveta Woman Rep Joyce Lay and a host of Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries.
The appreciation team comprised tens of people who helped President Kenyatta, in one way or another, during his journey to second term in office.
The guests left the party at their own pleasure.
