I thank my husband for marrying wife No. 2: Politician

A Tanzanian District Commissioner and CCM Party-diehard has caused a buzz on Instagram after she revealed that she was happy to welcome another woman to be her co-wife, seven months after she (DC) tied the knot with her business executive husband.

Pangani DC, Zainab Abdallah, took to the social media platform on Wednesday, February 21 to reveal that her busy work schedule has pushed her into absconding wifely duties, resulting in a need for her husband, Abdul Mohamed, to marry another woman, who will always be there to “take care of Abdul”.

Abdul is the CEO of Dar es Salaam-based football club Azam FC.

Abdul recently tied the knot with his second flame, identified by her fictious name Chibeb, in a colourful Islamic-themed wedding.

Ms Abdallah now says she is happy to have a co-wife who will help her look after their man.

“Let me take this opportunity to congratulate my husband @vanmohamed for marrying a second wife. Because my Islamic religious practice allows for such an arrangement, I advised him to marry another woman. My decision to get a co-wife was triggered by the nature of my job, which forces me to travel away from home – often –, consequently, depriving my husband of basic needs in a marriage,” Ms Abdallah posted on Instagram on Wednesday, February 21.

“I thank him for understanding me and heeding to my request. I am glad to welcome on board @only_chibeb as a co-wife, who will help me – in a big way – to look after our husband; a responsibility which is very demanding.

“I receive @only_chibeb with both arms, and I pray God ensures peace reigns in our union so that we can live happily forever and ever,” said Ms Abdallah.

The DC’s post elicited thousands of comments, with online users expressing mixed reactions to her move.

Some applauded her for being ‘honest and understanding’, while others speculated that Ms Abdallah could have fallen in love with another man in the political scene, and that explains why she found it easy to share a husband.
