Singer Ciara is officially taken!
The talented singer tied the knot with Seahawks Quarterback Russell Wilson at the historic Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, England, E! Online reported Wednesday.
Ciara, 30, became engaged to Russell, 27, in March, 2016 after they began dating in April 2015. The couple became husband and wife on Wednesday, July 6 in a glitzy ceremony attended by more than 100 guests.
Former Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland and U.S. media personality Lala Anthony served as bridesmaids, reports E! News.
Serena Williams was reportedly set to be Ciara’s third bridesmaid, but the lawn tennis champion had to skip the celebrations as she prepares to compete in the semi-finals at London’s Wimbledon tennis championships on Thursday July 7.
Other guests at the wedding included Jennifer Hudson, who documented her preparations for the event on social media.
All attendees reportedly had to hand over their cell phones before the wedding began to avoid any photos leaking online, says TMZ.
Ciara wore a custom Roberto Cavalli dress, which was specially designed by the label’s creative director, Peter Dundas.
Ciara and Russell held their rehearsal dinner at the Titanic Hotel in the Merseyside.
Ciara’s marriage to Russell is her first.
She was previously engaged to rapper Future who is the father of her son Future Zahir. The former pair initially split in August, 2014 – just three months after becoming parents – and broke up for good in October, 2014.
Russell was married to Ashton Meem for two years – from 2012 to 2014.
Ciara and Russell famously took a vow of celibacy in April, 2015 at the request of devout Christian Russell, but Ciara admitted in February, 2016 she was struggling to keep her hands off her man.
“It’s going pretty good (sic), we’re hanging in there,” she told Cosmopolitan Magazine of the couple’s no-sex rule. “I’m not gonna lie. I’m human, so it is not easy, especially when I look at him and I think he is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, that I’ve ever laid my eyes on, to be honest.”
