Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz is now asking you – his fans – for help in coming up with a name for his soon-to-be-born baby with girlfriend Tanasha Donna.
Diamond on July 7, 2019, announced that his Kenyan lover was 7-months pregnant with a baby boy; his fourth and the ‘Radio’ singer’s first child.
He made the announcement during a joint birthday party for Tanasha and his mother Sanura Kassim themed ‘The Great Gatsby Celebrations’ held in Dar es Salaam.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the ‘Kanyaga’ hitmaker asked his followers for suggestions.
“Please advice the name…Nyinyi ni ndugu zangu……Nyinyi ni Familia yangu….Mna kila haki ya Kupendekeza jina la mtoto wetu Tumuite nani……Tafadhali Pendekeza,” he wrote.
[Please advice the name…you are my brothers and sisters…you are my family…you have every right to suggest the name for our baby….please give me ideas.]
The post drew a host of reactions; with his fans and followers suggesting all kinds of names.
But, perhaps, the strangest one was Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko who urged Diamond and Tanasha to name the baby after him.
Governor Sonko also congratulated the couple, further reiterating President Uhuru Kenyatta’s recent remark that Kenyans are allowed to cross over into Tanzania in search of – among other things – love, and vice versa.
“Huyo mtoi akizaliwa Nairobi inafaa aitwe ‘Sonko’… otherwise congrats to the young couple. Kweli Rais wetu @Ukenyatta ana maono ya mbele, si ni jana tu alisema huwezi kukataza mkenya kuenda kutafuta mtoto Tanzania,” he said.
