Students aged 14 to 18 ‘rent house to engage in sexual activities’

Police in Kanduyi, Bungoma County on Thursday evening arrested six secondary school students on suspicion of engaging in sexual activities.

Township Sub-Location chief, Joseph Cheng’oli, said the day-scholars, aged between 14 and 18, had rented a house in the area; and would meet in it after leaving school every evening.

The students, according to a Nyumba Kumi Initiative officer, would proceed home after engaging in sexual intimacy.

More than half of the nabbed students studied at the same school in Kanduyi.

According to the Nyumba Kumi officer, who spoke in confidence, some of the students were nabbed fully naked and others were in their underwear.

“They [students] had just cooked and were caressing each other, when we busted them Thursday evening,” said the Nyumba Kumi officer.

The officer says he does not know how long the students had rented the house.

“We had only gotten interested in their movements the moment we noticed them getting into a rented house in Kanduyi every evening after school. We had been monitoring them for a while now,” said the Nyumba Kumi officer.

The students are being held at a Bungoma South police station as investigations continue.

Chief Cheng’oli says the students are set to undergo medical tests.
