A 25-year-old college student in Uganda has been sentenced to two years in jail for stalking and harassing Kabarole District MP Sylvia Rwabwogo.
According to the MP, the student, whose name is Brian Isiko, used Facebook to send messages and calls, expressing his undying love for Ms Rwabwogo.
The MP told court that she’d chosen to ignore, until recently, when Brian texted that he could not sleep at night because he was constantly thinking about the MP.
The student was arrested after he texted, asking the MP out.
The legislator on June 11 showed up at the venue of meeting with the police.
Brian has, consequently, been sentenced to 2 years on the count of cyber harassment and nine-months for offensive communication. The sentences will run concurrently.
