Nairobi senator Mike Sonko has warmly welcomed the entry of former Presidential candidate Peter Kenneth in the race for the Nairobi Governor’s seat – despite the fact that Peter Kenneth has not yet confirmed his bid for gubernatorial seat.
In a statement to newsrooms, the Senator – who has expressed interest in the Nairobi Gubernatorial seat – said he hopes Kenya National Congress leader will join Jubilee Party.
“I wish to welcome the entry of former Presidential candidate Peter Kenneth in the race for the Nairobi Governor’s seat which has attracted a high number of aspirants in Jubilee Party. I hope Kenneth will join our party and support the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto in 2017,” Sonko’s statement read.
The senator said he is ready to work with the former Gatanga MP if he joins Jubilee.
Should Kenneth join the Nairobi governorship race, he will add to the growing number of aspirants which includes the incumbent Evans Kidero, Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru, former Raila Odinga’s aide Miguna Miguna among others.
