Popular Ugandan musician Eddy Kenzo will tie the knot with his flame Rema Namakula on the third week of August this year, eDaily has learnt.
An introduction ceremony will take place on August 14, 2016 – and a week later, the grand wedding will follow.
Eddy Kenzo and Rema Namakula have been dating for a while now and the couple is blessed with a daughter.
In March, 2015 Eddy Kenzo said he’ll exchange vows with Rema once he wins a Grammy.
“I know people don’t love comparisons especially when you compare yourself to the great, but I see Eddy Kenzo and Rema as the Jay Z and Beyonce of the coming years. I want my wedding to be a celebration of me winning a Grammy Award,” he said.
Two years back, Ugandan media reported that Eddy Kenzo had visited Rema Namakula’s parents in what was believed to be a pre-introduction ceremony. Rema later appeared on NTV’s Mwasuze Mutya and denied the reports.
“He has not come to visit my parents but when the time is right he will do so. I was only performing at their home and that was me and his mom, then tabloids started writing about the pre-introduction ceremony but the truth is, he has not,” she said.
Earlier this year, Kenzo threw a grand surprise birthday partyfor Rema where he hinted that he would soon tie the knot with Rema.
It seems he is actually making good on his birthday promise.
eDaily congratulates the happy couple.
