A mutilated body of a middle-aged woman was on Tuesday morning discovered stuffed in a briefcase and dumped on a road at Karurina Village in Embu West.
Residents, who were headed to work, alerted the police about the suspicious briefcase.
Police officers promptly arrived at the scene – and upon inspecting the briefcase – they discovered a woman’s head, hands and neck that had deep cut wounds.
Confirming the incident, Embu West police boss, Francis Sang, said the woman’s body was yet to be identified.
Sang said the woman’s mutilated body was found stuffed in a briefcase, which was wrapped in three plastic sacks and dumped on a road in Karurina area.
The Embu West police boss suspects the woman was killed in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The woman’s body was taken to Embu Level Five Hospital mortuary as investigations into her mysterious death continue.
