Muslim faithful at the Jamia Mosque, Nairobi were treated to a rude shock after 24 pairs of shoe disappeared during Ramadhan prayers last week.
24 believers were forced to purchase new foot ware after alleged thieves made away with their shoes.
The incident is reported to have taken place when breaking the fast in the evening and it is unclear how the shoes went missing given the entrance is guarded.
The mosque says that it is still looking into the matter and will give more information in due course.
It is suspected that the culprits target shoes for sale in the local market.
This has prompted introduction of shoe lockers in some Mosques.
