The Late Night Show’s Seth Meyers received his Thanksgiving present in the form of job offer from, possibly, one of the biggest award shows in U.S.
“The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is excited to have Seth Meyers host the 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards. With his natural comedic wit and innate ability to charm audiences, Seth will help us carry on the celebratory tradition of recognizing the best in television and film at the Party of the Year,” read the statement, in part, from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association President Meher Tetna.
Seth Meyers officially takes upon the role of hosting the award show after numerous rumors indicating a possibility of the show running without a host in 2018; a first since 2009.
Meyers picks up the mantle from The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon, who hosted this year’s Golden Globe Awards in January.
Seth Meyers has, previously hosted the 2014 Emmy’s and, is more famous for his 2011 trash-talking of U.S President Donald Trump – then just a businessman – during a White House Correspondents Dinner.
The 2018 Golden Globes has been scheduled for January 7th, and will feature actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s daughter, Simone Garcia Johnson, who was recently selected as the 2018 Golden Globe Ambassador.
