Actor Kone Nouhoum of local drama series “Selina” is dead.
Mr Nouhoum died at 4am Thursday at the Nairobi Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition in late September last year after being involved in an ugly car crash at the Ol Karia geothermal site in Naivasha.
The Kenya Film Commission says it has “lost a great personality in the film industry and we send our sincere condolences to friends and family.”
Mr Nouhoum’s family member confirmed news of the film star’s death.
Following the September 29, 2018 road accident, Kone remained in a critical state until his death. His neck and spinal cord were gravely affected.
His wife, Jennifer Kimwati, disclosed to Nation in a past interview that Kone was in and out of the surgical theatre.
“Kone had no sensations from the neck down and could not move, but he could smile and recognise people,” said Ms Kimwati.
In November last year, Kone’s family members held a fund drive to raise money toward Kone’s treatment.
Kone would be buried later Thursday according to Islamic practice.
He is survived by a wife and son.
Kone, acted as Reagan in Maisha Magic East series “Selina”. He also featured in other local drama films, including “Mali” and “New Beginnings”.
