Sauti Sol, Khaligraph, Nikita Kering, Rash Band shine at AFRIMA 2019

Khaligraph Jones, Nikita Kering, Rash Band, and Sauti Sol raised the Kenyan flag high during the 6th All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) held on Saturday in Lagos, Nigeria.

‘Leave me alone’ hitmaker Khaligraph Jones beat fellow regional heavyweights Diamond Platnumz, Harmonize, Mbosso and Nyashinski to win ‘Best Male Artist from Eastern Africa’.

Nikita Kering, on the other hand, emerged winner in the ‘Best Female Artist in Eastern Africa’ category after staving off competition from Tanzanian stars Nandy, Maua Sama, Rosa Ree as well as Queen Darleen.

Nikita capped off a wonderful night by scooping a second award in the ‘Revelation of the African Continent’ category.

In the ‘Best African Duo, Group or Band’ category, Sauti Sol took spot with their hit song ‘Extravaganza’ which featured Sol Generation acts Bensoul, Nviiri the Storyteller, Crystal Asige and Kaskazini.

The popular boy band also won the ‘Best Album of the Year’ category.
