Sad news reaching eDaily is that Kenyan singer Esther Akoth, popularly known as Akothee, has lost her twin pregnancy.
Her manager Nelson says the singer who collapsed at a train station in Geneva, Switzerland Tuesday, August 30 is out of danger – but none of her unborn babies survived.
“Unfortunately the babies did not make it,” he told eDaily Tuesday evening.
“She (Akothee) has just come out of the theatre. Her condition is stable. We are now waiting for her to recover from anesthesia,” said Nelson.
Doctors at a Geneva hospital said they could not feel heartbeat of one of the twins. The physicians said they were left with no other choice but to prioritise saving the mother.
Akothee had planned a Basel visit for antenatal before the unfortunate incident.
“She could not make it, so she was rushed to the hospital only to find one heartbeat followed by bleeding,” said Nelson.
Akothee’s manager has urged fans and members of the public to respect the singer’s privacy and share information that won’t cause panic to her family.
Akothee left Kenya for Switzerland, where her fiance lives, in mid August.
We wish Akothee a quick recovery.
