Celebrated Tanzanian songstress Vanessa Mdee will not share the stage with global R&B sensation Chris Brown this weekend as earlier planned.
The Niroge hit-maker, who was scheduled to perform at the much-hyped Mombasa Rocks concert on Saturday, explained that there was a disagreement between her and the event organisers.
“I was scheduled to perform at #MombasaRocks this Saturday, but due to organizers failing to meet our agreed terms, I regret that I will not be performing in Mombasa this weekend,” she wrote.
Explaining that the event planners failed to honor their initial agreement, Mdee told fans that it “did not make sense” to stage a performance under such conditions.
“I was really looking forward to seeing you all…but you know, if it does respect the initial agreement, it does not make sense. Looking forward to rocking with you soon,” she added.
Chris Brown will for the first time stage a performance in the country, alongside other A-listers including Nigerian sensation Wizkid and Tanzanian chart-topper AliKiba.
The concert will be held at Mombasa Golf Club, and tickets are now going for Ksh14,000 a pair.
eDaily, Citizen TV and Hot 96 are sponsoring the show.
