Residents of Mutomo village in Gatundu South Constituency, Kiambu County woke up to a rude shock Tuesday, September 6 when they found an elderly man dumped alive near Mutomo Graveyard along Gatundu-Mutomo Kenyatta Road.
The 90-year-old man, Samuel Kibure, was a prominent businessman who worked with the Ministry of agriculture before getting into financial difficulties due to his drinking habits.
The nonagenarian claims, before the Tuesday incident, he had been admitted at a Gatundu hospital before being discharged. His son – who lives in Nakuru – on Monday night, took the elderly man to his brother’s home in Karembu village in Gatundu South.
However, he did not sleep through the night as his nephews woke him up slightly past 1am, wrapped him in a blanket, bundled him in a car and dumped him alive near Mutomo Graveyard, before speeding off 2am Tuesday.
Mr Kibure said he was taken to his brother’s home as he (Kibure) had sold all his land and property, thus he was homeless.
He says his children “see me as a burden since I am paralysed. They have left me to die”
Mr Kibure has urged well-wishers to come to his rescue.
