Rayvanny dedicates new song to Africa following xenophobic attacks in South Africa

Tanzanian singer Rayvanny has broken his silence on the rising spate of xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

The Wasafi signee however did not take to the streets of social media to make his opinion known as have most African artists who have spoken up on the matter.

The ‘Tetema’ hitmaker did what he does best, went into the recording booth and dedicated a new song to Africa.

Rayvanny, in the song released Wednesday that has since garnered over 100,000 views on YouTube, pleads with Africans to shun the vice and embrace each other in unity.

Below is an excerpt of Rayvanny’s lyrics in the song;

“See what’s going on…don’t be blind…

Open your eyes now and your mind…

We got the same colour…one kind…

Love is everything we all need to find…”

The xenophobic attacks in South Africa have since been condemned by leaders world over.

Two Kenyans were previously reported to have been affected by the attacks that have been alleged to mainly target Nigerian nationals living in South Africa.

A section of Nigerian artists – led by Tiwa Savage and Burna Boy – have vowed to boycott any performances in South Africa the foreseeable future.

President Muhammadu Buhari has also sent a special envoy to his South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa to ensure the safety of Nigerian citizens living in South Africa.
