Presidential election in Nyanza counties postponed, again

The repeat presidential election, which was to take place in four counties in Nyanza region on Saturday, October 28, has been postponed to a later date, which will be announced by the IEBC Chairman, Wafula Chebukati.

Speaking at the Bomas of Kenya on Friday evening, Chebukati said the commission arrived at the decision following spates of violence in Migori, Siaya, Kisumu and Homa Bay Counties, which, he said, led to “torture”, “attack” and “kidnap” of poll officials.

The affected counties have 3, 635 polling stations of the 40, 883 across the country.

More soon.
